A man and a tree play music together, a letter shows up suddenly and changes everything...
Directed by: Gilles Grégoire
This animated film intends to sum up in a simple and easy way how Greek indebtedness grew into the outbreak of the public debt crisis of 2010. It shows how this crisis is directly linked to our everyday lives as Europeans and seaks to denounce, with solid arguments, the huge disinformation around this subject. The whole project was based on unpaid volunteer work (The total budget of the film was 2.200€) while it mobilized, for five months, a team of seven people, plus six translators. A lot of creativity and self-sacrifice were necessary to by-pass the lack of budget.

This second collaboration with musical stalwarts James, "Dear John", is award winning director Péter Vácz ' most ambitious project to date.
Experimenting with lighting and a variety of animation techniques to great effect, the music video tells the story of two characters on a surreal and life-changing journey. We see how this effects their relationship and how they come to accept a beautiful transformation.
In this promo, the young director also evolved his style further to include some linear 2D animation alongside the emotive and richly textured stop motion characters and sets.
